Five ingredients. Two capsules a day. Every amount printed, on the pouch and here.
What follows is the reasoning for each one — what it is, which form we chose, how much is in there, and what we are and are not claiming for it.
Alpha-GPC — 300 mg
Alpha-GPC is a highly bioavailable form of choline, and it is the form behind most of the research on choline and cognition. It supports the body's production of acetylcholine, a neurotransmitter involved in memory and focus.
Most supplements that say "choline" use choline bitartrate instead. That is real choline, and it is chosen because it costs very little. In trials with healthy adults it has not shown the cognitive benefits people buy it for.1
Why 300 mg
Research in healthy adults has run at roughly 250–630 mg a day of Alpha-GPC.2 We picked 300 mg from that range. Higher-dose trials exist, but they were run in people with diagnosed cognitive impairment — a different population from someone buying a focus supplement, and not a number we would use to describe our own product.
We chose the dose from the research in people like our customers, not from a bigger-number arms race.
Lion's mane — 400 mg, and the two words that matter
Ours is 100% fruiting body, standardized to 25% beta-glucans, and both of those facts are printed on the label.
That combination is worth checking on any mushroom supplement. Many use mycelium grown on grain — which brings the grain with it — and state no beta-glucan percentage at all. A label that says only "polysaccharides" is not telling you how much active material is in there.
L-theanine — 200 mg
An amino acid found in tea. It promotes calm, steady focus without drowsiness, which is why it is so often paired with caffeine to smooth its edge.
Zinc — 15 mg
An essential mineral that supports normal cognitive function and immune health. Ours is zinc picolinate, at a sensible everyday amount rather than a megadose.
Vitamin B12 — 500 mcg
As methylcobalamin. Supports energy metabolism and normal nervous-system function.
What is not in it
No proprietary blends. That phrase legally allows a manufacturer to hide how much of each ingredient is present. Every active in Weal Focus is listed with its amount, which is the whole point of the product.
No titanium dioxide. No artificial colors. The capsule is HPMC, so it is vegetarian.
Warnings
For adults 18 and over. Consult a physician before use if you are pregnant or nursing, taking medication — particularly cholinergic or anticholinergic medication — or have a medical condition. Keep out of reach of children. Do not use if the seal is broken.
Alpha-GPC draws in moisture. Keep the pouch sealed with the desiccant sachet inside, somewhere cool and dry.
